Is Air Pump Necessary ?
As i was looking around, I noticed that maybe i could take out the airpump in order to gain some HP.
I'm not so sure anymore because there is a sticker on the air pump that says : "Never remove air pump. No Oiling."
has anyone removed theirs ?
what are pros and cons ?
Thanks.

it is required on 89-91 N/A cars to run.
it is required on all 2nd gens to pass emmissions.
you will not gain any HP from removing it.
if will just give you more space under the hood.

you save some weight and gain a little power, but you should keep it if you need to pass emissions.
The biggest benefit is that you get rid of another thing under the hood, and get rid of a lot pressure lines.

But.....cover your nose!
When you remove the airpump you'll have this annoying smell of gas/exhaust fume type of smell. I took it off then put it back on when I just take the smell any longer.

Thanks guys. I will leave it in until i need more space under the hood.
There are many advantages to doing this. A. If you plan on working on your car in the near future and doing anything involving the turbo it makes it a whole hell of a lot easier to have the airpump removed already. B. Once all these things are removed you raise the power output from the engine cuz you go from 3 devices taking power away to 1 (alternator). and C. It looks really damn good
And if your worried about emissions what i do is re-attach my air pump and stock exaust system come inspection time and pass
