air pump, i searched

air pump, i searched

i have a 88 SE, im just ripping **** out of the engine bay, so PS, air conditioning, and the air pump are going, my question is do i need any block off plates for the air pump, right now i just have a cat back exhaust, so if someone could let me know or point me to a web page with directions on how to remove it

You remove the airpump and you still have cats, you will DESTROY the catalytic converter!! It supplies fresh air to the cats, so remove them first then just tkait it out. No block off plates needed, unless you want to go ahead and pull the ACV, then you will need one.

...which you might as well do because the ACV is completely useless without the air pump.

Rico is right, the cats need the air pump to prevent them from overheating and burning out.

If you pull the cats you will need something like the RB pre-silencer to help create enough back presure to activate the 5th/6th ports.

Air Control Valve, part of the emissions control equipment. Big aluminium thing with lots of hoses on the side of the intake manifold.

You can get a block off plate from www.racingbeat.com for like $10. Or just make one!!
