Air Box Comparisons

I did some logging with different intake arrangements, and got some nice data.

This car is making something in the region of 200-280 WHP. The intakes using engine air saw about 10C higher air temperatures. I am less concerned about temperatures since I am spraying meth/water.

Series 4 Intake and snorkel baseline

K&N Filter element = +0.3 PSI at redline
Open Airbox = +1.5 PSI at redline
Cone Filter = +3 PSI at redline

At 4500 RPM, the cone filter picks up about 1 PSI, but the real difference is in the top end.

Yup, and if you ditch the stock turbo inlet duct and do a 3" 45degree mandrel bend off the turbo to the cone filter it spools and flows even better.

Ye. This car has a fabbed 3" smooth bend TID. The 3" 45 pipe is simpler and easier.
