Ahhhh!!!!
car is 90 gxl
aight so after finding out that i was losing coolant (even though my temp gauge shows its was good) i went looking for the leak and the only place i think could be the problem was the thermostat. i suspected this becasue when i replaced it last week the gasket did not fit center. also i dont have a torque wrench so i just tighten it by hand and then some.
so i tried to tighten it some more and BAM the bolt snapped. FUUUUCCCC!!! took all day to drill it out now i just want to get this right before i go through this again.
the new gasket i used last week somewhat got smashed. so i want to get a new gasket. can i use the gasket sold at kregan? they dont hold the gasket needed by part number but they have something similar. its called FEL-PRO 35404 NEA 805 "water outlet gasket" or do i have to get a special one?
what size is this bolt? i brought it in and checked it with a nut and found a similar bolt size. metric class 8.8 M6-1.0x20mm is that correct?
how tight is 6.9-9.8 NM (70-100 cm-kg, 61-87 in-ib)? its just hand tight and then a little more right?
i kind of need help now because i need the car tommorrow. thank

well the bolt fits for now untill i find an oem replacement. i just want to know if the gasket will work. they look identical, and fit exactly the same. im just worried if theres a specail material it needs to be made out of.
if anyone could answer this id be very greatful so i can tighten it and drive down to kregan to get it torque, thanks.
