AHH lost spark AGAIN!! someone help

ok here is the story. a month or 2 ago, my 86 n/a sport lost spark. just out of the blue. since, i have replaced both coils and ignitors, computer, and cas. the plugs and wires are not even 2 months old. after i did all that, the car ran for a day, and now it is dead again. i have been tinkering with it for 5 days now, to no avail. any ideas?

Look for posts by HAILERS with 'spark' as the subject. He's the specialist on non-sparking 7's.

ok, i did that, got a really great idea with the cas, so the car is getting spark and will now sputter for about 3-5 seconds and then die. how do i check fuel? it sounds really airy when it runs, like a vaccuum leak. then i push the gas to try to keep it going and it does a burr sound with modulation of the gas pedal. like it could be fuel or spark.

If you have sparkk, and the timing is ok, then it really sounds like there is a air leak. Not a small vacuum line, but something like the brake boost hose being off, or one of the hose to the intercooler off, or the hose to the bac blown off. Still....it's possible that it;s fuel. Or it could be lead and trail plugs swapped (unlikely).

Outside of putting a fuel pressure gauge teed into the fuel intake line... I know of no other way of checking fuel. Maybe jumper the fuel check connector and turn the key to ON and listen to the fuel flowing. That does not check pressure though. You have not swapped fuel pressure and return lines have you?

nope no fuel return lines, i was chasing them down lastnight. trying to see where i could pull a hose so i can actually see fuel flow, but i decided that was a bad idear.

well i got it to run, the intake to air pump hose wasnt hooked up. it runs quite well now, i had to play with the timing. but now it doesnt want to idle it will just run down till it dies, but has a ton of more power than i ever remember. any ideas on that?
