Exclamation AHH...Engine wont start...late for work!!!

So i usually leave my house just in the nick-of-time to get to work right when i need to clock in...
I get in my Seven like usual and do a nice little pre-check up on things and then i then turn the key and click...uhhh... ? Nothing happened...
I thought it was just the safety mechanism that takes place--not sure what it is called. (usually after the third turn of the key the car starts) So i click it over again. and nothing!
so i was a bit worried considering i was going to be late for work once again.. haha
i checked the engine, battery mounts and all connections were solid. get back in the car and click it over again and again and again.
finally after about the tenth try it starts....
The same thing happened when i returned to the car after work....
what’s going on?!
thanks for the input and sorry for the little read.

probally your starter
although i would check all possibilites

granted this was not on a 7 but i had an 86 chrysler lebaron GTS turbo, and sometimes it would just click i few times, took several tries to get it to turn over and when it did it sounded like the starter was kind of weak.
put a brand new starter in and WOW it worked again, heck even started up faster

Smile

i read both threads and they helped shed some more light on the situation.
I'm going to try and tap the start as well as check it's condition. As far as my battery goes, it's brand new and the connections seem solid.
Once again i turn the key and i only hear One click...
Might it be the ignition switch?
Thanks guys.

the cables which are going to the starter where not tighten right...

try to clean your connections at the starter terminals!

only one click cause the starter can get going to keep turning, sometimes you may hear more than one click

I had this problem with mine this weekend. Try taping on the starter lightly with a hammer. If it will start after that it is the starter that needs to be replaced.

I had 2 month old connectors on my wires. They were still bad. Quick suggestion to anyone: don't get the color coated painted ones.
