AGX rear struts with Eibach springs FC NA

Hi I just got my struts and springs replaced on my 1989 FC NA.

I have the adjustable KYB AGX struts with new Eibach springs, top mounting plates and rubber bushings.

The fronts are fine and work well. No problem.
The problem is with the rears. The strut number is 741025. The lower part of the spring does not stay centered on the strut because the perch or lower mounting plate is too wide.
The original struts had a very tight fit at the bottom to keep it centered on the strut.

Perhaps I was supposed to install some sort of rubber bushing at the bottom to seat the spring on these new struts from KYB ?
Please let me know if you know what I should do with this problem. I do not want to reinstall the struts the way they are.

Thank you
Paul

I hope someone can help me with this since I am unable to drive my car until I get it put back together.

Anyone else install KYB AGX struts ?

Thank you
Paul

Put them on the car. When there is some compression on the suspension (car on the ground) they will seat fine and stay in place. I have the same rear struts in my car. The problem is actually the spring having a smaller diameter.. not the strut.

Your right the diameter of the Eibachs are about 1/4 smaller than the OEM.
I will put them onand try them out.
Thank you
