Aftermarket siren in place of alarm horn but wanting constant power... how??
So, when I got my car it had an aftermarket alarm electrical taped into everything and this siren bolted above the leading coil. I removed all of it one day last summer because the heat caused all the electrical tape to get soft and sticky and everything fell right down to the dead pedal with that nasty sticky crap everywhere and exposed, twisted together wires everywhere.
Well, lately I've been feeling like the stock alarm is a little lacking, and because I stumbled upon the siren in my garage and decided to hook it up to 12v and it wails like no tomorrow. So, I took out the front single alarm horn and crimped a male spade connector and ring terminal onto the two wires and proceeded to install it earlier today. Much to my surprise... it only squelches as the stock alarm is a pulsed power apparently.
Enough rambling, down to the actual question. Is there any way I can wire that into my stock alarm but feed it constant 12v when the alarm goes off? I'm asking for constant power because it is a, for lack of a better term, "self-contained alarm" siren that wails off and on and changes pitch by itself.
Thanks for any insight and help.

Wait, so you want the alarm in a ready state, but when it's triggered, you want it to stay constantly on with no power off? Or do you want it just directly connected to the battery (will give you constant power). Sorry, I might be a little slow, but I"m kind of confused still...

well, it doesn't matter to me as long as it will shut off with the key just like stock. basically i just need it to get a steady 12v source when the alarm is tripped and it to shut off when i turn the key. so whatever way gets that done on a stock system I'm fine with. I've tried looking over the fsm wiring diagrams for the alarm but haven't had my aha moment on it yet.
I'm thinking the steady state with no power off would be right probably.

I was just thinking if the security/alarm light in the center console kicked on maybe I could put a relay in there? Guess that's another thing I'm going to have to investigate tomorrow.

My aha moment has hit. Starter cut relay, and if it's only a 4 pin one I can replace it with a 5 pin one. Anybody see how that wouldn't work?

well, my relay would be great to test if the coil would actually get power... where should i start looking for problems? I've checked all my fuses and they are good but it's still not cutting power to the starter and switching to the siren. only thing i can think of is the CPU in the kick panel maybe?
