Aftermarket radio install kit

Hey,
I am trying to install an aftermarket cd player. But am having issues finding the right dash kit (not wire harness) . Since it is a double din or whatever they call it, what kit have you all used to install a cd player?
I see some on ebay (ya I know ebay) but some say sub dash install kit (not bezel install kit) and the other way around. What do I need?
The cd player I have is just the normal small ones, not double din. Or should I get an equalizer to fill in the blank spot?

Anyone have a link to what they bought that worked great? Thanks help is always appreciated.

I have got the pioneer avic F910BT.

Most radio's come with a metal frame that you must place in the dash and the radio locks into that frame. pioneers frame is actualy a bit bigger then the radio it self and it was a real squize to get it in, and the ash tray wasn't opening properly due that.

But the fact that pioneers frame is a bit bigger, is something i discovered last week at work and there are universal 2-din frames that are a bit smaller (its the hight that made the difference). But i dont know exactly what the possibilities are.

Besides that i dont think you need anything else? most things you need come with the radio so far i know.

here some pic's, you can see the frame at pic 1 at the left on the seat.

I have just a normal cd player, not double. I see the kits that allow you to use just a single player not double. The kit has either a little cubby below the cd player to take up the extra opening under player, or they have the kit that is just a block off plate to cover opening.

But where can I get one of these? Ive looked around and I just don't want the wrong one you know. I hate doing things twice.

Oh i thought you meant a double din radio.

I had single din radio before with a little space to put stuff in. On mazdatrix they call it a pocket but they don't have it for our model.

Only part number i can find is for a flat panel.

Thanks, either way is fine. I don't need the cubby. Just need some tunes. I had the old stock radio, not installed but came with car when I bought it, last owner said they just removed it to put in an aftermarket unit, but they took that out at sale, gave me the old one, said it worked, well it doesn't. So got a unit now and going to install.

Do you happen to have a link to where I can buy that? Saw you had a part number.
Thanks to for the help.

you can get cheap kits that have face plates and covers and everything you need...just go to any decent car audio store and they can order you one in for like 30 bucks

I have used this one in the 88 GXL to mount a single din radio/cd. It worked fine looks good and secures the radio very very well.

There is a metra kit that is supposedly higher quality. You can get a pocket to go under the single din radio with the metra.

Best Buy.

It's a Metra kit. Don't use the pocket because anytime you aply brakes **** slides out, so just use the block off plate. I did so and put a gauge and switch there.

The part # is 99-7501

I Have the Avic z110bt in my DD and did not notice the size difference. Slid it into the Rx7 and it was dead nuts too. Maybe it's a size difference between the two BTs?

Wouldn't things fall out when accelerating? Doesn't it go forward when braking? I believe that would be, you typed it wrong.

Best buy doesn't have that listed on the website. Close numbers but not that one.
But I found this on Metras website and a few on ebay. Is this the one?
But what goes in that top little opening?
Or can you switch it, put the cubby seen in pic, (no block off plate on this one it looks like) on bottom and have HU on top?

Any audio store in northeaster Vermont, hrrrmmm, nothing within at least 60 miles 1 way. Wish I could find a shop that knew the rotory too. Just do the the 1 over. Very rural here. Mountains, mountains, nothing, nothing to be seen for miles. Its easier to shop online from my location to get anything besides gas and groceries.
Hell even a walmart (with their billion locations) is about a 100 mile trip.

Really...?
Just go on ebay and order a kit. There's no rotary voodoo involved. They are all vaguely universal so there will be a lot of pieces u don't use, just pay attention to the parts they tell you to use.

What I meant was there is no audio store, and I too would like to find a shop that knows rotories. Not for the stereo, for other things.
