Aftermarket Parts for Mazda Rx-7, Listing of Executive Orders

Aftermarket Parts for Mazda Rx-7, Listing of Executive Orders

Exempted parts are add-on or modified parts that have undergone an ARB engineering evaluation. If the part or modification is shown to not increase vehicle emissions, it is granted an exemption to emission control system anti-tampering laws. This exemption is called an Executive Order (EO) and allows the modification to be installed on specific emission controlled <NOBR>vehicles</NOBR>. Every Executive Order part or modification has an assigned number that can be verified by Smog Check stations, BAR Referee stations, or by the ARB.

May 2000: I have manually extracted the parts listed for the Rx-7. As you can see from this list, 1st gen. owners are pretty much SOL :-( For any questions, goto: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php

Update

Oct 3, 2003:
Today I had a very interesting conversation with Wayne, the CARB referee. I asked him if it was acceptable to move the top mount intercooler, as long as I used the stock intercooler. He told me the following (per the "book") is OK as long as all emissions equipment and the stock turbo are retained:
  • moving the stock intercooler
  • replacing the intercooler
  • replacing rubber or plastic IC piping with hard pipe kits
That means you don't have to search for the elu$ive EO numbers on intercoolers. (maybe that's why Greddy no longer has EO #s on theirs, duh!) You also don't have to camouflage your IC and hardpipe kits with black paint. Flaunt them!! ;-) <TABLE cellSpacing=3 cellPadding=3 border=3><TBODY><TR><TD>EO

They only test it through normal driving. do you think a Z06 would pass muster under WOT?

California is so gay.... Everytime I see a cool car, or a sweet deal and start to get upset, I remember this crap

Btw this is a great contribution to those that have to worry about such things
