I have had clients in the past buy the cheep oil coolers and thay exploded on them I would stay with the factoty stuff just because we all know it will hold up to the heat and the PSI of the rotary.

BUT that is just my 00.2 cents worth

why are you wanting an aftermarket oil cooler??? the stock one is good to 400HP

Hell, I even use stock FC oil coolers on off road racing trucks it is so good.

The stock oil cooler is better than probably 75% of the aftermarket ones-- why would you want to replace it?

Tell you what... you have more money than sense, so you you can just paypal me the money you were going to spend on a new oil cooler and use the stock cooler, and have a better cooler than you can buy anyway.

Just clean the stocker up real good, maybe acid dip it or something and get it polished real nice. It'll look as good as aftermarket and perform much better.

Am I right in thinking that most aftermarket coolers don't include the thermal pellet thingy to control the oil flow through the core? I'm not really sure.

The thermal pellet is on the front of the eccentric shaft, behind the shaft pulley nut.

I would just get some nice stainless braided lines for the stock oil cooler, make sure its in good working order, and call it a day..

Ah. Maybe it's just 1st gens, but there is something in the cooler itself. It might be a pressure thing. I can't quite remember and I don't have the manual nearby (too lazy to go to the garage, plus it's freezing outside ).

Remember though that the stocker is aluminium and would polish up quite nicely. Combined with some braided lines as mentioned, it'd look sweet, and work fine.

He's talking about the oil cooler thermal bypass, not the e-shaft thermal bypass. Two different things.

if you really wanted to, and the stock cooler isn't enough... you could run dual stock oil coolers
