Go with the RB collector if your going single or RB road race if your getting or want true duals. Or even go with the corksport header its dyno tested and gave 14hp I believe along on stock S5 n/a.

Talking

Pacesetter. ^_^

No I'm kidding, seriously don't get a pacesetter, they are total crap. Racing Beat is what you want.

Cheers,

i got a rb header for sale if you want.

id like to get 200 for it since thats what i paid, because i decided to do a turbo conversion now and i didnt even get to install it on my car.

racing beat header for a 13B that is heatwrapped. it has a bung for the O2 sensor. the headers are like $220ish from racing beat and $50 for the heat wrap (and then shipping).

heat wrap is the only way to go, ive heard of lots of people that melted a few of the wires that run along the frame rail without it the header is like new, has less than 1,000 miles on it. it is the road race duel outlet.

this pic is from the P.O., i never actually put it on my car, only had it for a week now.

link to a new one...
http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda2.htm
then click hi-perf exhaust from the drop down, and its the 2nd one down (Road Race Header 89-92 RX-7)

I just went with a RB downpipe and Random Tech HF cat, but the $299 Corksport headers do seem pretty sweet, and a legit alternative to the RB options.

I have no problem believing RB is better, but really, has ANYONE any evidence about Pacesetter headers 'not lasting'.

As in 'Dude, my Pacesetter header wore out and I had to replace it'?

No, a friend of a friend's gay cousin that had a Honda doesn't cut it.

Where are all the Pacesetter headers with the holes burned out of them? The threads with people complaining about the holes burned through the Pacesetter?

I'm not sticking up for Pacesetter headers, just calling out the internet bullies for evidence.

If you don't have pictures, it didn't happen.

what they say is true. ive seen at least 2 treads on pacesetters headers and exhaust and with pics. one of them broke or burned on the flange causing it to leak. i guess they use a cheaper steel that cannot hold up to the heat. i will try and find the treads but i have seen proof.

I have run a Pacesetter Since I changed exhaust(almost three Years now).it gets nice and Cherry on Spirited Drives..lol!..But It has held up to the "punishment".I just don't Drive the car in the snow..and Not too often in the rain(I hate the way the car seems to Fog up on the windshield!)..I had to Stay with this header as It was Easier to Modify to the rest of My Exhaust(REV TII RB exhaust.).

I ran a pacesetter header for a few years on my old GXL and loved it, everything was fine except the paint burned right off as soon as I started the car. I even sold them to another guy over a year ago and he has been running them with no problem.

The major difference seems to be that the pacesetters are black while the others are stainless. Pacesetter used to make a set of ceramic coated headers for the FC but they discontinued shortly before I bought mine. But all in all a good cheap option if you don't need shiny headers.

Make your own using a RB header, cut the primarys off @ the flange, add 3" of piping straight off the flange, reweld orginal piping back on.

This is what Paul Yaw has recommended, and we created one for my car and picked up 1 full second on the track..

Except for the fact they are not made anymore SDJ is hands down the best. I have tried to get one for a couple years now with no luck. There is a company that has the rights to sell SDJ headers but is always 'too busy' to make more. Plus I think the cost is waaay up.

I did just score on old Mindtrain header though.

SDJ > Mindtrain > RB > Pacesetter

I know OBX makes a header they sell on ebay bet I have never heard anything about it.

RB makes a good everyday header, but if you are looking for real performance its definitely not the best.

I've ran pacesetter/monza for a while now, and I like it. I don't know why so many others seem to dislike them.
