Thats bullshit i fail to see why Ted gets a warning, he the severity of what he said ranks a 0 on a scale of 1 to 10..

 

well, like i said, i didnt know it was overrated, but for those that are so proud of it, i think they're overrating it themselves. maybe its the pride in one's car, plus its rarity (such is a GTUs). so there's visual appearance/performance/and love for one's own vehicle and knowing its somewhat 'rare.'
and your GTUs isnt too special, either. heavier drivetrain with a 4.33. pssh, i can put that 4.33 on my coupe anyday without the bloated weight. *sniff* do i smell a GTUs thread??

Have you actually read the thread? Nobody's saying they suck, only that they're overrated. They're no better or worse than any other S4 TII. If you say the AE sucks then you're saying all S4 TII's suck, because there's barely any difference.

It's easy. You stick to posting pics and info, and leave out all the crap about how incredibly beautiful and sought after they are...

Calling a car overrated is actually not criticising the car at all, it's pointing out the misguided opinions of the people who believe the cars are better than they are.

Actually I have read both threads. Have You? I must have misunderstood when people said they're ugly and overweight etc. So these were compliments? How was I suppose to know LOL

 

I just think FCs, in any iteration, are beutiful!

I wouldn't call the 10th AE owner's feeling that their car is rare and worth more "misguided."

The market dictates which FC is more valuable than the next and the market says that a 10th AE will fetch more money than a standard S4 TII and in some cases an S5 TII.

I think what gets me is that if people have a rosey view of their particular model of FC, why do people in the FC community feel the need to put their view down?

Why try and kill their buzz?

I would never seriously talk smack about anyones ride. I occassionally jest, but I have never seriously said, "Dude, your car sucks. S4's suck, '91 Coupes suck...blah blah."

If 10th AE owners think that their model of FC is the ultimate, how does that effect /you/?

I'm all for having pride in your ride.

I think it's silly to argue which FC is better than that FC when it's abundantly clear which is the ultimate.

In the end, it comes down to this.. the 10Ae, even though it's just a cosmetically diffrent S4 turbo, is still a 10th anniversary.. Mazda still only produced 1500 S4 turbos with this trim level..

I don't see any 10ae owners bragging about the fact they own one, aside from the fact that they may state that their cars are 10ae's, rather than T2's.. It's called pride in ownership.. It would almost seem to me that "envy" is the cause of all this downplaying of the 10Ae by owners who already own other rx7's ... much in the same way that there has been alot of bickering between turbo and na owners as to which model is better ("The na is lighter and more reliable" "the turbo is faster" etc...) .. You own an RX-7... It is NOT a 10Ae.. it bothers you to see 10ae owners take pride in their vehicles.. what makes their car any more special than yours, just because it's painted diffrently? why shoudl they feel they own anything more special?
I'll tell you what.. take a 10th anniversary Rx-7 and a normal s4 turbo.. both are in the same shape mechanically and physically.. list them in the local newspaper.. now let's see which car gets more interest and responses from the general public... The 10Ae will no doubt get more interest.. why? because general public perception is that the 10AE is more desireable because it was a limited run... yes, i agree. the public is quite dumb for not realizing that the 10ae is the same as a TII. quite silly really
