Start from the basics....

Is the AFM somehow plugged in backwards? It would be hard to do, but is possible.

Are any of pins dirty or bent?

If the AFM looks fine, do you have fuel and spark to the engine?

Does the car start at all? Even if the AFM is shot then the car will still start but will immediately die.

Well, the fuses in the engine bay are all in a line/row. The most inboard fuse would be, the INNER fuse. The most outboard fuse would be, the Outer fuse.

The second or third thread on this site is FAQ and in that FAQ is a picture of the engine bay fuse box, at least for a series four.

if it doesnt start after you let it sit over night dont worry. just continue doing the unflood prossess. mine didnt start after i let it sit for 8 hours even. but it did start once i started cursing like a salor at it.
make sure your afm connector isnt damaged what so ever. make sure the intake piping is nice and secure. make sure you dont have any air leaks. maks sue that the afm is the proper way upwards. stock position.
good luck

btw. if its s4. i may be able to sell you one for dirt cheep
