for rotaries you must set it at the NUMBER OF ROTORS TIMES 2. In our case you should set it to 4 cylinders. (3 rotors would be 6 cyl.)

DO NOT TUNE IT BLINDLY OR I'LL END UP BUYING YOUR PARTS WHEN YOU PART OUT YOUR CAR. Get a wideband O2 sensor and the software and get the correct A/F ratios and ADJUST ACCORDINGLY. If you don't buy the wideband then go to a dynotune shop and have THEM tune your car.

I'm still doing a lot of research on how to properly tune the car. I have about a month or two before i HAVE to install the wideband, injectors and pump so I'm trying to read up as much as possible. I want to know if there are any other members that recommend any books or something along those lines. The one thing I don't want to do is teach myself via trial and error. An error could cost me $2000 for a rebuild.

one more question.. i was reading up on some threads about the tps on an S4 and how its only reads open and closed. On the AFC, the throttle postion doesn't read right. at about 40% throttle it read 100% with the THR setting arrow deal facing North East. The other option (arrow facing southeast) doesn't work. It says THR No Good!. The other setting with the arrow vanishing and giving a line east west doesn't do anything(reads no TPS) which option should I use and does it make a difference wheather or not it reads right?(Just so user can see TPS on screen for show) And i read on a thread the on s4's, one must set their LO on 95% and HI on 99%. Is this true and can someone explain to me the S4 TPS problem? Can i swap the TPS? Thanks <- NOOB!!

I can't remember off the top of my head. I have the manuals in PDF form at home so I'll have to go look at them and I'll let you know tomorrow.

Let me see if I remember correctly...

For an S4, the settings are:

4 cylinder
Flapper door AFM
5 in 5 out
Arrow up and to the right
TPS low as 90%, high as 95%

so why is it that my tps reads 100% at about 45 or 50% throttle? thats gonna ruin the tuning right?

Because the S4 uses a quarter range throttle. After about 1/4 throttle the TPS is at 100%. That's why you configure the high and low settings as I had posted.
