I think that the race version would be better, anyway, as the FC wiring is getting pretty old and brittle nowadays.

AEM EMS is made flexible to adapt to OE sensors, right? My question is how good are 2nd gen sensors? Ditch AFM for MAP is a given. S4 TPS OK, or replace w/ S5? Temp sensors? Would you bother wiring in Knock sensor + its 'puter?

Yeah, I was considering the race system instead. But would it be to difficult to wire it up? Those some one knows the price for this system?

It would probably be better to use the universal AEM sensors because it wouldn't be too much fun to spend weeks trying to figure out why the AEM EMS doesn't run correctly only to find out that it was a bad Mazda water temp sensor. Yes, I would probably wire up the knock sensors and see how they work, as you can always disable them later if you want to. The TPS is a good question, as the S4 TPS isn't all that great.

If it's like any other EMS, it will take you a day or two, depending on your skill and how well you prepare for the installation. Although not necessary, it will take a lot longer to remove all the unnecessary stock wiring because you have to reference the factory wiring diagrams to see what is what. There is a group buy going on for the AEM PNP, so your best price may be to get in on this deal, and then buy the universal harness separately. Then again, you may want to let others be the guinea pigs before you fork over your cash. Anyway, here is the group buy and pricing:
