Advise From You Pro's

Basically I'm just getting back into working on 7's. I've got an '87 TII with a fresh motor (4k), K&N, and exhaust. I am going to be getting $2000 shortly and I'm wondering... What is the best way to make my car fast without porting (for now). Please give me a list of items and perhaps places to get them. I want to keep it fairly quiet and definately smog legal (CA). Thanks

Lightweight flywheel will increase your roll.

Upgrade your turbo and fuel system along with a fuel controller.

Loose some pounds.

Add a racing beat cat back.

Upgrade your clutch.

All the engine to breathe with an intake.

Don't forget the FCD!

Also, a boost controller for safety.

I would wait for the Rtek 2.0 chip. add two 720cc injectors, Fuel controller and boost controller and FMIC.

Doesn't the Rtek7 come with a FCD? When will the 2.0 be coming out, 1.5 just recently came out? Where can I get 720cc injectors? By fuel controller do you mean SAFC? Where can I get a boost controller? Would a Volvo FMIC setup be ok for now? What kind of fuel pump and turbo upgrades would be best?

BTW... the 1.0 has the unflood feature. The 1.5 doesn't.

So here's what I'm thinking so far:
>SAFC...$200-300
>Rtek1.5or 2.0(when it comes out)...$100
>Fuel pump...$80
>Injectors (680cc)...free
>Boost controller...???
>FMIC...???

Will the volvo setup work for now? What kind of boost controller is suggested? Will the stock BOV be ok or should I upgrade? Thanks

I think people more often go for the NPR intercooler. Remember an intercooler is used to bring down intake temps. I bet the volvo fmic is better then the stocker due to the fact that it will not get heat soaked as much.

Anyone know if a FMIC an be routed while keeping ALL of the goodies in the car, ie still having A/C and Power Steering? I have a Starion intercooler ready to go, I just can't find a good spot to route the IC....
