What kind of oil to use for shifter?

What kind of oil are you supposed to use to put in the shifter resivoir (sp?)
And how much?

not 2/3 of a quart. the FSM calls for almost exactly 3 oz. it's not a lot, but if you put more you'll have oil leaking all up out of your shifter (ask me how I know )
