Advice on ride height for handling
Hello everyone. I have a 86 FC that i autocross. I just installed a ret of stance xr-1 coilovers and im trying to figure out how much to lower it for the best handling. I know that i will need shortened rear camber links because the fc rear suspension doesn’t like to be lowered. I’ve also heard that the easy camber adjustment solutions like the one offered by racing beat are sub par as they adjust each side unevenly. i run 205/50 R15s on the front and rear. Thanks!

if its an actual race car best way is to just lower the car until it stops getting faster on some test course
you will find that in the front the limit is basically the front tire hitting the upper frame rail.
in the rear i think the control arms hit the body or something weird, but the geometry gets funky too

Research a bump steer kit to fix front suspension alignment, and raising rear subframe for fixing rear alignment caused by lowering the car.
Im running the powered by max rear suspension bits after driving my fc lowered for years which used to have energy suspension bushings everywhere. Once I raised the subframe using the pbm bits, it was a night and day difference in terms of how much more aggressive the car drove.
running awr rear individual camber adjusters to adjust left and right.

here is a pic of the Aragosta setup instructions.
on the chart, it goes
Toe IN
Spring rate (7/5)
tire size (235/45/17)
tire pressure, 2.1 = 31psi
the next box are the shock settings, which only are relevant with those shocks
next is ride height, 625/660mm that would be top of wheel arch to the ground, with those tires (235/45/17 at 31psi)
the last box is how much higher than stock it can go.
it seems like kind of a street oriented setup...
