advice anyone?

im getting ready to pull the engine out of my 7 and put a new one in..

any advice?

its an 88 turbo

yes. mines got extremely low compression and its old and rusted to all hell so i figured the best way is to put a new one in it

so you have a brand new motor sitting there? or a rebuilt one atleast? same series? be more descriptive please or we can't give you any advice.

Remember how you take the old motor out...install the new one in the reverse order.

pull the tranny with it. One of the bolts on the drivers side mount will drain the coolant, so watch out if you dont need a shower. label your harness, take pictures. As they said make sure its same series. Before starting the new motor take away fuel and ignition and turn it over let oil get through the whole motor. if the motors been sitting you might want to put some oil in the spark plug holes and spin it over by hand. AaronCakes has a nice write up on his site about motors that have been sitting
