advantages - you look cool to ricers
disadvantages - you look bad to old school owners

It really adds nothing to a NA functionally.

My 87 NA has a steel hood, and I can pick it up with one hand. I'm not a weenie though :-D From what I've heard people say, the 87 turbo hoods were not all aluminium. Some are steel some are not. If you look on ebay, you'll see some people saying they have a steel turbo 2 hood.

I like how NA guys always want a turbo hood and if I had a turbo 2 with a FMIC, I'd be trying to match the paint of an aluminium NA hood to my turbo to take people by surprise that nknow the cars.

First off if your n/a hood is steel I would go to the junk yard and get a Turbo aluminum. Its about 22-25lbs lighter and gets cool air into the engine during city driving wich is good and it also looks good to. I loved my T11 hood on my N/A. It really beefs it up. Nobody in this world cares if its turbo or not. I drive a geo to work every day and back and I would trade it for a N/A with T11 hood anyday even if everybody I saw pointed and said hey your so slow and you have a turbo wow big deal. Life goes on get a turbo hood

It sure does to people building up their car. Hell people rip out their interior for 20lbs, Id much rather save 20lbs on the hood, which happens to be on the front of the car, than drive around looking like a race-only car.

Heres another question, what if your n/a is as fast or faster than a stock TII, is it still gay to have? After all it can still back up its aggresive hood.

it might pull in more air (for better or worse) but will increase drag which no one needs. unless your'e doing for the wight savings i say its kinda like those ricers who have huge carbon fiber wings trimed neutral. they say "well the carbon fiber is liter than alluminum" but they miss the point that a gaudy wing (especialy trimmed neautral) is extra wight in and of itself and sertainly isnt going to be giving an fwd car more traction. but i digress. go with the TII hood if its the only aluminum one you can find and you care that much about 20lbs.

I have an n/a with a turbo hood...
To those who say it doesn't make a difference wieght wise, should try it, taking all that wieght off the front of the car, makes a very noticable difference in braking and steering, also the wieght reduction is noticable in a n/a car's accelaration, just ask people who put a subwoofer box in a n/a, they will tell you they felt the wieght added..
I use to have a problem with the car running hot in stop and go traffic during the summer, however the TII hood elimanated the problem, so there is some functionality in it, also I noticed all the kids in the civics don't rev at me as much anymore in my N/a, thats a perk all to itself..Max

I have my NA hood still, even though my car is torbocharged. I like the stealth factor, I've had a few civics and such try and race because as we all know, low-mod N/A's are not too fast. I like to surpise while I'm still scrambling for traction in 3rd!

Cosmetically though, the TII hood looks a LOT better- beefs/chunks up the front of the car. Who gives a **** what type of 7 it came from, it's yours if you put it on it!

come on guys why is it rice to put a TII hood on the car if you like the looks of it more?

does that mean if I put rims on my car I'm rice because I like them more then the stockers?

hell look at how many ricers we must have because they put s5 tail lights on there car when they own a s4

it should matter where the hood came from
the rice part should only come if they pawn off there N/A as a TII

other then that it is no different the putting S5 tails on a S4 and we all know if that was ricer quite a few ppl here would be ricers
