WOW, wut an elitist bunch of BS!

Haven't earned the right to wear the Turbo badge? WTF makes you think your so focking special?

Oh wait I'm sorry I'm supposed to bow down to the infinite wisdom, and power of the Turbo II owners. My little NA is so not worthy of your powerfull hood. Maybe I should go out and burn my car right now, and start a savings account so I can get a TII and then maybe I can be an ******* as well. I've earned whatever badge I focking feel like wearing, and neither you nor, your car can do a dayum thing about it.

Tell you what. If your ever in Louisville KY, I've got a '92 GMC SUV that I'd like to race you with. $500 says you'll see nothing but tailights to 140.

I'l have a TII hood on my NA, for alot of the reasons that are listed before. I like the looks, and it's lighter. I thought about what I would say to someone should I roll into an RX7 meet, but then I realized I will most likely never attend one, in the of chance I might have to deal with an *edited for flaming great guy* like you.

Actually when I had my 13BT in my car, it used a FMIC so that I wouldn't have to use the T2 hood.

Again, I don't think that anyone really would disagree with the idea that a fake or non functional hood scoop or huge aluminum wing, or other funky body mods (be it on a Honda, a Toyota, or FC) is rice.

Now if it helps the aerodynamics (as a body kit generally does) that is another matter.

But you guys just are missing the true point:

If this thread is just going to be about a bunch or people that think that they didn't waste their money buying a T2 hood for a N/A, then we need to close it.

This thread is supposed to be about the advantages and disadvantages of a T2 hood on a N/A.

Dude, I don't have a TII. I respect the TII owners. That's one of the reasons I won't ever put a TII hood on my NA.

They have to deal with all the trials and tribulations of having a Turbo rotary. It is a harder road than us NA guys have to travel. We have it easy.

Go read the original thread I linked, I went on and on until I was blue in the face. It's great fun. I did the Rhino analogy, didn't seem to work. Let's try a new one!

Okay, lets pretend Navy SEALS get a special tattoo on their shoulder to show that they are a SEAL.

This tattoo is instantly recognizable and differentiates them from the other branches of the US Military. Oh, and it's really cool looking.

So you're in the Army, or whatever and see that tattoo. Wow, it's cool. You want it. So you go and get it. Guess what? When people see that tattoo they're going to think you're a SEAL.

But...you're not a SEAL. You're not as tough, not as deadly.

You're a poser. You haven't earned that tattoo. You didn't go through Hell Week. You didn't have to suffer for that tattoo.

It's the exact same thing with the TII hood. You NA guys that are sporting that hood haven't earned it.

Quit riding the coattails of genuine TII owners.

Mark, your right as usual.

Kevin, to have a debate, both parties have to be of the mindset to be swayed by others arguments. I am sure that responses to your well-worded position will contain a large number of colorful metaphors, personal attacks, and few facts or supporting arguments.

For those that speak in shizbit, PM me for a dictionary.

Yo,

Awww Mark, you know how I love to tilt at this windmill.

It's such an obvious concept, so simple that it boggles me that people don't get it.

A TII hood on an NA is the epitome of Rice. It's such the perfect example. If people don't get that, then any other permutations of Rice will totally escape them.

We need to lay a firm foundation so these kids can start to fight the Rice that plagues this great nation of ours. The scourge of the Import community.

Fight it! Fiiight!

*chuckle*

It is a simple concept and I understand it completely, I simply don't believe that the Turbo II is that much more special than the NA to warrant "respecting them". It's the same care with a focking turbo/wheels/hood/gauges...It's not a focking space ship or the epitome of modern engineering.

So a Cowl hood on my 4cyl S10 is rice? Or maybe it's teh Altezza 'esce tailights? Or the loud exhaust? Wut about the 2/3 drop? Doubt any of that helped with the year end class win I got in AutoX last year (although unable to attend the awards ceremony )

BTW I like how I was warned by the mod for my last post. Wonder if this one will get a stir??

*edit*

I also need to add in that I think it's quite funny that you think I'm "riding the coattails of TII owners"....I think you are misunderstanding 120% of the reasons people are putting these hoods on thier cars. NO -ONE.....Not a single person has responded with a post about how they wish they had gotten a TII and want to be more like the TII owners.....That has ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to do with them using the TII hood on the NA car. I think you might have some issues with your car of choice....perhaps you should start a savings account for a TII so you can be an "elitist" of sorts.

Actually Yes I would consider Altezza's rice... I didn't think anyone in the world wouldn't consider them rice.

And as I explained in the PM too you, you were warned because you attacked and flamed another member with profanity.

But once again, this thread digresses... perhaps another mod will agree with me and lock this.

The TII hood is not the same as the taillights or wheels. It is the defining feature for that model.

You take that defining feature as your own and /don't/ have that model, that is Rice, plain and simple.

I gotta run, I'll argue s'more later.

at least the TII hood on a N/A is a stock part
it doesn't mean the guy/girl is trying to make his car out to be a TII

it just means he wants something that looks a little better
The owner would have had a functional scoop before the FMIC. I really don't think getting an FMIC is a right qualifier. There are too many threads going on about this.

If you like it get it but, IMHO I do think it is a bit rice. RarestRX said it best

And the same can be said for S5 tails. Enough with that analogy already, its bunk.

Um, no. I believe the GTU, GTUs, GXL, Convertible and Coupe all came with "S5 tails."

Hmmm, which model came with a hoodscoop for the TMIC?

Anyone?

I love these chats.

So if a guy has a TII hood on his n/a its rice, but if a TII has a FMIC and a TII hood its not? Neither have Top-mounts.

The only things more desirable about S5 cars is what you see on the outside of the car anyways. The body kit, tail lights, spoiler, and wheels. So since I have S5 tails and a S5 wing, then its rice because Im trying to be a S5 car? NO. Those parts look better. Some people feel that the TII hood looks better, some people have a spare one and put it on because its in better shape than the one they have on at the time, and some use them because they weigh 20lbs less than an n/a steely.
