advancing the timing

well im running a lil rich and on acceleration it accelerates smooth but like stayin at a certain speed such as 40mph in 3rd gear (just an example) and staying at 40 it hesitates and no its not the 3800 hesitation...
i was just wondering if it may be because the mixture was pretty rich... i would like to lean out the mixture a tad... so which way do i turn the cas to lean out the mix... and how far?? or n e other things i need to know?
what do i hear for when im turning the cas? well just asking please hook a fellow 7 brotha up
lol

The CAS has nothing to do with your fuel maps. Go rent a timing light for 10$.

I have an 88 N/A and I was thinking about advancing the timing but I was wondering exactly what it does in a rotory engine. Does it have anything to do with the plugs firing sooner(I know that in a domestic engines it controls when the valves open and close)?

there is two different types of timing on a piston motor

valve timing and ignition timing

when you turn the dist on a piston car you are advancing or retarding the ignition

to advance or retard the valves you need to move the cam a little bit and that is a whole different story on howto do
