Angry add coolant part2

Well, If you looked at my last thread about this, you'd know that I have an add coolant light that just won't turn off.

So there are two things that I did to try and figure it out.
- the coolant sensor on the top of the radiator, replaced the sensor
(the light still came on)
- replaced the radiator cap (needed replacing anyways)
(the light still came on)

So I took it to AR performance in Elk Grove. The guy looked around and said that it might be a possible short in the wiring. He also told me that I need to change out the coolant (I already knew this one). He also said that I would probably want the grounds cleaned off and everything of that nature.

So looking around at the wiring for the sensor, I can't find any short on the wires all the way to the harness. So...Does anyone have any ideas on what I could possibly do?

here are somethings that might help
- The temp gauge isn't telling me that the engine is over heating
- There is pressure in the radiator
- The add coolant light just stays on for days! turns off for a couple of seconds then blasts again with that annoying buzzard.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!
-Bert

You have air in your system. Located in the 2nd Gen archives is a thread called "filling the coolant after a rebuild" started by "Bob_the_Normal"

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/filling-coolant-after-rebuild-383818/

You didn't rebuild your motor but you are having the same problem with air in your system that needs to be bled out.

The archives are there for you. The Sticky Faqs are there for you. I have read the FAQ 4 times since joining this summer. There is a lot of information that may seem useless a few months ago but when reread the epiphony happens.

unplug the wire from the rad and ground it that should making buzzing stop and the light go off if it doesn't then there is break in your wire.

^ beat me to it.

if the system checks out ok and grounding the wire causes the buzzer/light to go out then be sure the cooling system is bled of air completely.

next i would change the overflow hose to the reservoir, calcium and other deposits can cause this hose to act as a one way check valve and only allow coolant to flow into the bottle and not back into the cooling system when the engine cools. if you do all of these and the problem persists then i would start checking the coolant seals integrity, there are how to's all over the forum for cooling system bleeding and checking the coolant seals.

and if you happen to need a rebuild, don't forget i have the best price around and you know i won't jerk you around but i still hope this isn't the case.

So unplug the sensor, ground the sensor and if the buzzing continues then there's a break in the wiring. any suggestions on a good spot to ground the wire?

when i had a compression seal problem i grounded mine with a short leader wire with a ring terminal and bolted it under the passenger side air cleaner mounting bracket bolt. worked fine and kept the buzzer out of my face.
