Question Master forum member ? forum member ? Please detail door actuator install [ Searched ]

Going keyless entry in my 90 vert.
I am a DIY guy with telephony/PBX DC voltage experience ( I give good phone ).
Doing a major audio install now. Lot's of interior is pulled. Thought
I'd install & deploy a keyless entry alarm with a interior motion sensor, in a tandem/follow-me application with the factory system ( when I get THAT fixed ).
Searched & parsed a lot of good info (Kudos to Icemark the AlarmGod).

However this frightens me:

a) Can anyone detail ( with pix ? ) how to mount/install a door motor/actuator ?
Icemark has written that the perferred local is behind the armrest area. I have
no clue how to mount & connect the pushy rod thingy. Guess this is a "hardware" issue.

b) Where would the most effective/asthetic & secure location be to install an interior
motion sensor in my vert. This is important to me, as I don't want to have to put the top
up & lock down just to dodge into the titty-bar for a cold Shiner Bock & a lap dance.

Blessings on any/all replies. May your cattle multiply, and your women never wander

- CC

I believe the proper way to get a user's attention is to PM them. Not to put their user name on your thread tittle.

I got mine from kickyride when I installed the actuators on my GSL-SE. They were fantastic with tech support, but I had little problem with the rods. It did, as I recall, take some time/trial and error, attaching the actuators to different sections of the lock rods, then 'actuating' them with my fingers to see when it worked smoothly.
Probably not much help, but with your experience you'll knock it right out!
BTW, when you do figure out the motion sensor deal, be sure to post it, I'd love to have that in my vert as well!

door actuator goes in door, rod connects to lock rod.. get some metal sheet to mount the actuator too in the bottom left *driver side* and bottom right *pass side*. then run leads to proper connection on alarm

The only shaved area I like, is my women. I quess I'm specifically questioning how to mount/install a DEI-524N actuator in my 90 vert DS door.
Perhaps you could post up your very straightforward experiance/explanation for the "hardware challenged" ?

Thank you, kind sir. Indeed, I will put up the motion sensor results for all who run topless.
I've been chatting it up with kickyride. They seem to be good peoples.

No offence, but for someone who has so much expereience with electronics, you should be able to figure it out on your own. And I hope a mod changes the title of this thread, its just stupid.

This location will only work with slim actuators btw...

That said... since you need help...

It will also only work if you don't have speakers there.

I'll be putting mine in very soon. I'll take some photos of the install.

None taken. I don't drive the electonics I work with ( Read: I'm a n00b mechanic who's never rode/worked on anything but pickups/ horses & cowgirls ).

It's not the wiring I asked help for, it was how to attach/mount the door actuator.

Thank you much, for putting up the pictures.

BTW: A mod DID change the title of this thread. It was even more stupid before he edited.
I broke from protocol and posted help from a member by name.

Yeah, actaully I think Icemark skips over any threads that have his namein the title. Or he'll just change the title, then post in the thread not to put usernames in the title, and then not reply elsehow. It works out.

I are a Cowboy ( horseman, actually. Cowboys work for a living ). Yes I/we do ride around in pickups. Now this Cowboy rides around in a RX-7 vert, too ( With hat and snake skin boots ).
Now the pickup drivers think it gay, until I blow by them & they read my bumper sticker " Cowgirl Butts Drive Me Nuts" ( the Cowboys that can read, anyhow ).

Hoods in Texas ? Yeah, we got 'em. I just pass through 'em real quick to pick me up a $20 rock & a blunt

" A Hoot " ?!? You speak Texaneeze !

Yeah, "Denny" that's about the third time I've been paired to him. Did he do a nickle for grand theft auto in Huntsville D-Block ? I'd say about '84-'89 ?

I could probably recommend a workable medication program for him.

Toasting back atcha ( Shiner Bock, of course )
