the check engine light only 'blips' on for a few seconds and goes off as soon as i let off the WOT it goes off. the coolant overflow is more the full (due to me making sure i had enuff coolant and it wasnt eating it). ill check for leaks but im pretty sure its electrical or something of that nature. thanks for all the help thus far guys keep it coming

8 times out of 10 you need a rebuild if you are loosing coolant and have no leaks.

u may be burning it and the overflow means nothing. you need to actually open the radiator cap and the water neck.

The ADD COOLANT warning indicates radiator level is low, not the overflow bottle. You probably have a bit of air in the system. Make sure you bleed the air out of the system as you fill it.

Make sure the heater is fully open. Fill the system up, turn the engine on and watch for air bubbles coming out the filler neck. Add more coolant as required. Keep doing this until no more air comes out, then put the cap on and go for a drive. Let it cool down and check it again.

The ECU is not connected to the coolant level warning system in any way. Adding coolant stopped the warning, not resetting the ECU.

??thats wierd??? i dont think i reset just the ecu, maybe i did more than that, cause all i did was take the negative off the battery terminal, stompped on the breaks a few times and reconnected it. maybe its just coincidence, the day i unplug is when it stopped buzzin for good.
