Need Help With Mods

Ok, for starters its an 87 TII with 75k mi, RB turbo exhaust, FCD, 8mm spark plug wires, new plugs, and a K&N filter. For some reason it always beeps and says add coolant while idling, but when I drive the car or sometimes just rev the engine while at a stop it will turn off. Then come back when I idle for too long again. Any ideas? The cooling system is filled with fluid, so there shouldn't be anything wrong? Also the K&N filter says non turbo, but its probably better then stock right? It sounds cool as hell now with the air filter, and between shifts you can hear a *Pffffffffffttt* blow off valve sound. Anyway, what should I do about this? Also, will my engine detonate with this setup? How will I know if it is detonating? My friend said it was shooting flames between shifts, but thats not it is it? Thanks for the help.

Your coolant level sensor may be bad and need replacing. You can also check to see if the wire connecting to it is frayed or grounding out somewhere.

Your engine shouldnt detonate with that setup, mind you i said SHOULNDT. If its detonating it would sound like a bolt being thrown into a metal bucket. If you detonate a few times, bye bye motor. Keep that boost in check and you should be fine. Just because you shoot flames doesnt mean you a detonating, more likely backfiring.

with those mods.. you may want to invest in some 720cc injectors and a better fuel pump. You're probably pushing somewhere between 8-12 lbs now and without proper fuel mods, you'll run lean.
