ACV Confusion

I have just spent the last hour reading all the past ACV threads. I just want to clarify a few things in my own head.

I have an 87 NA. and these are the things I gathered.

1) From what I read, removing the acv and air pump shouldn't affect the aux ports in an S4. Right?

2) The best time to remove these two is when you are getting rid of the cat and stock exhaust manifold.

3) Removing the acv and air pump do not affect performance when stock cat and manifold are gone.

I just want to make sure these two things are correct from what I gathered. There were a lot of conflicting opinions in all the posts I read.

I am a newb, but I do a lot of reading before I ask a question. Like I said, I think I have it figured out, but just wanted and extra "Yes, you are right" to be happy.
