actuators constently depressed

89 n/a, don't feel 5th & 6th ports opening and the actuator rod is all the way in and in hard to pull out, when reved up they stay the same. any ideas? help needed and appretiated

On the S5 models, if the actuator rods are depresses, that means the port is closed. Also, revving the car in neutral with you watching will not do anything, as they need a load to open. If you say that you cant even pull them up by hand, then they are most likely froze somewhere. Youre going to need to take the lower intake manifold off and clean and lube the actuating assmbly , as well as make sure the sleeves in the engine can rotate freely.
