Ack! I need help with Clutch Slave rebuild!

Ok, well I finally got the damn thing off and it was a pain in the ***.

I was cleaning it and then I heard a doink doink doink doink doink....... a little metal ball was bouncing on the floor. Its really small.. Does this belong to the slave? If so, where? I was thinking it probably went in before the nipple. Yes I had unscrewed the nipple to clean it. Everything was off/out of it.

Thanks guys.

When you remove the bleeder screw there is a steel ball that is behind that screw in the recess. That is what you heard bouncing away.

so wait, you got SS lines, but you're rebuilding a clutch slave? A clutch slave probably cost half of what you'd pay for a NEW clutch slave.

Not even, it was way cheaper. Rebuild kit was only 7 dollars. I needed to get new hoses so I got a pair of SS for 18 dollars. The rebuild master was 9 dollars.

Now the other route--

SS lines $18
New clutch slave $40
New master clutch $65

Cant afford it, it may brake down later on the road (what doesnt?), but as long as it works now then I am cool. I dont have the money to spend $123 compared to $24.

Okay, are you going to hone out the bore in the slave? Otherwise those seals may not last long. Just get a generic one from a parts store, it should be less than $30.

I just replaced all of those internal pieces. Seems like there isnt much a brand new slave would do since the kit replaces everything.

And no, taking off the master cylinder is not a pain, the slave is the bizznatch!
