looks like the sanden type 2 compressor, i believe they used a high and low limit switch and did away with the vent, those systems are rather few and far between though. the US assembly plants did have 2 different systems installed, i never could figure out why some had one or the other but the type 1 system was far more common.
the sandens were installed in the US, the nippondenso units were installed in japan prior to shipping here.

Think we have a disconnect here. I'm not reffering to the expansion valve or the pressure limit switch. I'm reffering to the thermostatic switch inside the evap core box. It is specifically to counter the evap core from freezing over as it measures the temperature arround the core. when it gets cold enough to start freezing the switch will open causing the compressor to lose ground and shut off:
either way, not a ton of sources. however there is a used one on ebay if those 2 sites don't have it(even though they show they do).
can you send me that ebay link? the site he linked is broken, the other is a dealership and when I called they said it was discontinued. Theres a phone # listed on the broken site and they seem to be related to Atkins Rotary so I'll call them monday when they open but if theres one on ebay could you share the link?
i would still strongly suggest trying to get to the bottom of why the evap core is freezing up(assuming it actually is) otherwise any replacements will also fail. these thermal switches are still just simple relays with life expectancies, normally they never have to do any work at all.
had similar issue before, thermoswitch probe backed out of the evaporator core which cause ac to continue to run, push the probe back into the evaporator and everything works fine again

oooo, thats some good information, when I get the evap box out of the car I'll let you guys know what I find!
Update! Had some time today to take out the evap box and go through the Ac system. As notanymore said, I did have AC leaks but didnt mention them initially as I wondered if they were due to overpressurizing the system (I did mention I had a line explode on me once so I wassnt ruling it out). One was by the inlet to the aftermarket paralell flow condenser, the other by the high side inlet to the evap core by the firewall. Replacing seals and tightening them up more (maybe even some loctite?) and I think they should be good to go. My AC Compressor has always been covered in dye but thats mainly due to the AC line exploding that I mentioned before. I'm not sure if its leaking but its making squeaking noises which im not ok with so I figure replace it while the system is apart just in case.
WHAT I FIND WEIRD: I gained access to the thermoswitch and tested it in my freezer and it... worked? And its not even a case of "I think it worked", like it clicked on and off and the ohmmeter was showing it was working. But this then brings another question to mind, as a very frequent problem of mine is the evap core would freeze over so badly the air would completly stop flowing! So if the thermoswitch was working, even if the system was low causing the freezing would it not prevent the system from freezing over enough to completly block airflow?
The probe for the thermoswitch was shoved into the evap core, and the evap core fins arent in the best of shape but their not unusable. I'm so confused by this -_- where thermoswitch probe was shoved into the core
update #2. Compressor is definetly leaking. I'm doing a manual rack swap while dealing with the AC and finally got the pump off. Figured I'd inspect the compressor 1 more time. I'm not sure what this bolt is for but it looks to have fresh dye on it.
also looks like a leak on the high pressure line going out of the compressor. Theres a fitting there that seems to need a new seal and some tightening. Gonna keep this thread up to date with what I find for future people that have this same issue. Decided to go with a "new" (most likely remanufactured but its advertised as new) compressor just so I dont have to deal with the woes of a used compressor.
