Ac and general belt question.

Hello. I was wondering exactly what I need to do to take off my AC, belt and everything.

HOw do you replace a serpentine belt on these cars? Do I need to take off the other belts to replace the serpentine belt? Should I replace all the belts all at once? If so, how do I replace the air pump belt and Air conditioning compressor belt? Do I usually have to use a lot of force to move the pulleys down? Thanks for your help!

You have to remove the clutch fan to get at any of the belts. There's 4 10mm bolts on the back that must be removed to do that. Then there are screw-type belt tensioners on the brackets for the ac/ps belts.

COMPLETELY unnecessary! You can work the belts around the fan just fine.

Thats what I thought. So how do I do it? haha My serpentine belt tore apart on me, so it wasn't a problem to take off. I just don't know how to untighten the air conditioning belt and power steering belt.

I'm thinking I should replace all belts since, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to take them off in order to get to install the serpentine belt.

Serpentine belts are not what you've got. The FC has accessory belts... Serpentine belts are those one-piece-I-drive-everything-at-once-belts.

The A/C And P/S are easy. Loosen the bolt on the tensioner pulleys only SLIGHTLY and then adjust the long *** bolt that the pulley slides on accordingly.

Ahh..Ok. sounds good. I think I know what you're talking about now. I took off the bolt on the tensioner because I wasn't sure which bolt to mess with. Thanks.

Does removing the AC really add Horsepower? I never us AC so I was wondering if it was an easy process to remove.

No. How would it? It only uses power when you switch it on.
