ABS Unit compatibility???

Does anyone know if an ABS unit from a 1989 RX7 is compatible with a 1988 RX7 Turbo?

Thanks...

I asked the same question about a month ago but didn't get a straight answer. I'm assuming it would work if you also get the ABS computer that goes with it. I gave up searching for a non-leaking unit and just bought the bypass kit from Mazdatrix.

Its not on their site. You have to call them up. The kit consist of a T-fitting and a hose. for somewhere around $40 bucks.

I don't think ABS units will work from S4 to S5 cars, as the ABS unit/controller is wired into the ECU's of the respective cars, and we all know that there are MAJOR differences in the ECU system from 86-88 and 89-91.

The ABS controller is seperate from the ECU. Its the box right next to the ECU.

I don't know if they are compatible but I have a N333 88 ECU and have an extra ABS unit which came with it.

My GTU doesn't have ABS so I don't need that part.
PM me if you want it. I'll sell for cheap.

Yes they're interchangeable. They have a short harness that goes from the ABS unit to the little box that goes beside the ECU... The ABS computer is totally seperate from the ECU in both series. Some have a yellow sticker, some have a blue sticker, and although you can interchange abs-ecu's with pumps, in my experience, i've suggested keeping them the same. Not that hard to swap the ABS computer anyway.
