ABS Removal ?

I'm removing the ABS in my '89 TII. I went out to a junkyard and got the non ABS master cylinder and lines. Do I also need the brake booster? It looks like I do but just making sure I didn't grab the wrong one.

No leave the brake booster alone. Just swap what you have off the non abs car and remove everything thats left disconnected.

Are you sure? The part that connects to the brake booster is different.

You DO need the brake booster. I did the same thing on my 89 TII. If you replace the ABS master cylinder with the non ABS, you will need to replace the brake booster as well. The mounting points don't match up, nor does the plunger. Just grab the booster off the same car you got the rest of the stuff from.

That's what I needed to hear. Thanks for the reply. Looks like it's back to the junkyard for me. Maybe I'll grab a manual rack while I'm at it.

You don't even need the non-ABS master cylinder...

there's a lot of info on this search "ABS removal" or something similar and you'll find a lot of research to read.

While you've got the brake system or at least the top half out you could switch the proportioning valve over to a wilwood proportioning valve. It would give you some adjustability to the brake system.
