Question ABS acting up

A lil while back my abs light would come on while driving and would eventually go back off. It only did it twice. But three days ago it came on and now its staying on. I cant figure out why and to be honest I dont know jack about ABS. Anyone got any ideas as to why or what I can check?

Take it out? Hmmm, not a bad idea. Cheaper than replacing it. Whats involved to do that?

Nevermind, I searched and found the answer. I'm just gonna buy the Mazdatrix ABS eliminator. A new ABS pump from them is 2500 dollars!!!

Often the problem with ABS is a bad wheel sensor, not a bad pump. Check your wheel sensors for coroded connectors first. Hope that helps.

This is correct, so spray some brake clean on wheel sensors and ring. Worth a shot!

Anyone have a picture of what the wheel sensor looks like?

There is only one wired connection from the body to each wheel's back plate.

I removed my ABS pump last year.
That thing is HEAVY.

Oops - I forgot to tell my insurance company..

I was having trouble with my ABS too for a bit...

it would "trigger" the ABS during normal stops.

cleaning the sensors fixed the issue.

As a side note, Mazda ABS' are rebuildable and I believe Cardone does the work. I found them through Rock Auto.com.

I have an S5 ABS pump in good working condition if you need it.

I had bad wheel sensers and a bad brake booster. I thought it was the pump so I converted to conventional brakes. I got the computer too if you want that.
