about how much is it REALLY to change the bearings(tranny)

so i took my tranny(after taking it out, all last night) to 3 different shops.

one said $350 and that's including pilot and throwout bearing and labor.< i said **** that

the other said $65 that's including both bearings and labor< i like that one, but they were closed.

the third one said that since they don't have to do labor for taking it out that they will open it up and inspect it for FREE and not do anything else to it unless they have my approval.

here's the hold up.... i NEED it by this sunday... i'm going to the dragstrip in baytown with a few friends and it's the only time i have off. so i can't just throw another tranny in there cuz i don't have one... and i can't get the parts to do it myself cuz i don't have any.

can any of you tell me how much it was for you? or about how much you think it SHOULD be? i don't wanna get screwed here...

thanks for any input.

I don't understand. What does a tranny bearing have to do with a throwout or pilot bearing? If you need a bearing in the trans it's going to cost $$. They will probably need to replace the syncros also @ 300/400 if you have it out.
If your in a rush, replace it with another trans and wait and get it repaired correctly. Cheap is not always better.

they are not tranny bearings... they are the throwout and pilot bearings... tranny bearings are inisde the tranny and cost around $200 just for parts. the $350 quote would be around what it would cost to replace the "tranny bearings"...
