About the Fiero Eletric fan and amps
Do any of you know how many amps that fan draws??
I'm already having problems at night wiht my audio set up and I was about to replace my .5 farad capacitor with a 1 farad, BUT if this elctric fan is gon draw quite a few ams ps shoudl I spend my money on a dry cell Optima battery??

well...i dunno about a fiero.
the black magic efan (which some of these guys use on their rx7s) specs says it "Draws 13.9 amps @ 2200 rpm fan speed." cant imagine other efans would be too terribly different. anyone who knows otherwise can slap me

a smaller fuse wouldnt mean that it draws less amperage. the only way you could change that is by wiring up resistors or changing the voltage (which is 12v from the battery so you can't).
if a fuse blows, then obviously its drawing more current than that, unless you have a short and then it will blow constantly.
as for "would it spin as hard." as long as its getting all the current it needs it will spin at its and again, the only way to lower that is by adding a resistor or lowering the voltage. and i dont know why you would want to do that anyway.

I must have been thinking about that fuse resistor that this local e-store was selling. I'm about to hook up the same fan but was concerned about the current draw. Then toss in a 15amp relay spliced into AC unit to direct power to the fan, in case the thermostat cntrl fails.
Frankly, I don't see how an extra 5amps were overtaxing our members' charging system.

5 amps is a lot when you are borderline.
I hae a 70A alternator. My amp even has 2 30 amp fuses, and it pulls about 40 to 50 when bass is hiting.
leaving me with about 20 to 30 amps.
at night with the lights on I'm estimating about 5 to 10 amps for the lights, NOT including the 10 for the brakes!!
leavign me with almost nothign left probably arround 10 to 15 at the most even thoguth at night with my brakes on my amps dos not get enough power.
