Question AAS-Q

Anyone know if the actuator turns clockwise or counter-clockwise for hard and very hard? I still have the front stock struts on my GXL (I know, but I'm broke man...) and I just realised that the actuators don't work at all so I'm-a turn the rods to full hard and see if that's any better. BTW, the rods turn several rotations in either direction right now...I'd just like to know which way to turn them to get a stiff-one

Also, is there anything bad that can happen if I yank the AAS control unit out?

Cory

Yeah - they go several turns. I think CW = stiffer

The AAS shocks are dead.&nbsp Just replace them with a set of KYB AGX's and be done with it.

The only eletronically adjustable shocks that I knew of was Tokico "Illumina II"'s that were available for the Mustang (and very limited vehicles).&nbsp I don't think Tokico even makes these things anymore!&nbsp Even if you managed to get them working, you're looking at a pain-in-the-*** retrofit, which is going to cost you a lot of time, money, or effort (or all three).&nbsp Carerra just came out with a revolutionary magnetic adjustable damper that you COULD possibly adapt to work in the FC - these things cost BIG BUCKS!

Sorry for the terse reply, but it's a non-issue for most people here.
Aftermarket shocks are a LOT better for the money - ask anyone who has them on.&nbsp I haven't heard ANY complaints yet...

That only mean the actuators are working....at least some of them.. You can test it yourself by driving in "normal" mode, tehn driving in "sport" mode... from the factory, it was a VERY noticable difference, I hear.. I don't know myself, since all of the cars i've driven with it already had bad shocks.

However, it's very, very unlikely that any stock shock from a car as old as ours has had any life left in it for the past few years... Even if it just sat in a garage, it's going to die out with time.. the YOUNGEST second gens are now 11 years old...

AGX's are pretty cheap compared to most of the other adjustables...

yeah..and the springs may not be in all that great of shape either..
