looks good, but you might want to reconsider the e-fan mount. mounting it using those zip tie type thingies can be dangerous because if you hit a bump it puts stress on the fins. eventually after a lot of bumps it will rip through fins until it works its way to the bottom of the radiator. a simple solution is to have the bottom two fan mounts monted solidly to something like a flat piece of metal that runs across the radiator. id hate to see the thing get ruined!

I need to make a few decisions on what I'm going to do about my turbo manifold -- at the moment I'm leaning towards mocking up my own and having it welded. Which unfortunately is going to take some time and effort on my part -- 2 things that I really don't have at the moment.
Anyway -- it's enjoying a nice warm garage on 4 jackstands right now, but that's about it!

Yeah, at some point I might go back and do it differently -- in fact I popped one on of the heads off of those zip-ties while mounting it, so it will need some attention sooner or later anyway. However, I've used those same zipties on another vehicle with an aluminum rad and never encountered any problems. I seriously doubt that I will cause any real damage -- I'm probably more likely to drop something down there and hurt something more than anything else. Regardless, one of these days I might figure out a better mounting system. I actually would like to build a shroud anyway -- and that's probably the time to integrate the shroud with the fan mount...
Thanks for the compliments.

Some rubber was replaced here and there. I inspected everything and if it looked weathered or questionable, then I just replaced it. (Mostly talking fuel lines at this point). Everything should be just fine.
As far as painting the engine -- yeah, I know what you mean. I would have liked to, but I was sort of in the mode of trying to get the thing running. In all actuality, I'm assuming that at some point it's going to need a rebuild and I will likely detail the engine parts at that point. I really didn't want to mess with masking and painting the assembled engine, so I didn't bother. It's funny actually because I've been sort of "lazy" with some things and other things I've been really meticulous and patient... I think it just depends on my mood that day and how I rationalize things.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for the compliments. I hope to have it rolling by summer, but I don't like to set dates because I never make them. Unfortunately for the car project, my priorities are family, the house, work, etc. first.all take priority... I also have some "organization" to do and a bunch of parts that I probably need to sell off before too long as well. So if you're in the market for 91 vert parts, keep your eyes open. I've got practially a whole other car here that will be sold off eventually.

i just found this thread, you are a fc GOD!!! i hope to do this to my car soon.
i know you bought it after it was media blasted but what do you think it would cost to have it blasted? you can pm me if you dont want to post the price.
i would like to know if anyone else has done a project like this?
keep up the work and good luck. an awsome finish is all about the details.

Really don't have much of an update unfortunately. Just been a lot of other stuff around the house that we've been doing and I've been somewhat "defeated". Anyway, the only thing I've done recently is to grind off the convertible top mounts from the donor car and get them welded into the new car. One of the previous owners of the new car removed all of the interior brackets/mounts behind the seats, so I've definitely got some measuring, grinding, and re-welding to get done. It's one of those crappy jobs that has little enjoyment, seemingly a lot of time & effort, and not much payback. So, I've been fairly slow to work on it.
In the mean time though, I'm thinking of designing my own manifold -- but just haven't had the time to go mess with it either.... *sigh*
I really wish the vert was running though based on the last few days. Today was absolutely fantastic!! (and tomorrow is supposed to be even better!)

Yeah, just found this thread.
This is amazing, but if i was going to attempt something like this there'd be an AAR Cuda in that garage.
I'd never be able to just take a break for a few months and let it sit, it would drive me insane.
Good work!
