Angry 91 vert front calipers

so it was time to change my front brake pads, i started with the passenger's side and noticed the outer pad was down to metal on metal however the inner pad was almost new!......went on the driver's side and turns out i had the same problem, ....so basically both my front calipers are messed up, both inner pads are basically new and both outter pads are metal on metal......anyone bumped into this before??? and what caused it??????????

$37 + your time. Do you value your time?

Only when I'm actually doing something... which is between 6am and 4pm (work). My off time is filled with tv watching and taking the wife out to eat.

This is only about an hour job per side, and is a good learning experience if you've never done any REAL hydraulic work.

Of course, the real question here is, "Have the JDM calipers already been overhauled?"
If not, wouldn't you still have to spend the money/time to rebuild them yourself?

This is not to impugn the quality of Japan2LA's parts- I've heard nothing but positive feedback- but I'd never just slap a set of used calipers on without redoing them first.
I mean, it's only $40 and a few hours (including the rears, which are even easier to do) to be absolutely certain that your brakes are good.

In fact, given the nature of the labor, when it comes to hydraulics I prefer a "scorched earth" approach...replace everything at one time to minimize the bleeding cycles.
Do it all right one time and have years of trouble free operation.

Time for an upgrade!

Install a pair of FD calipers. They are a direct bolt on swap with no issues. Oh and front FD cailpers are prttey cheap as they are cast offs from owners installing front BBK's (not to state the obvious or anything)

Regards,
Crispy
