91 t2 seatbelts off the track

91 t2 seatbelts off the track

my seatbelts came off the track but i havent opened it up yet i dont know how severe the damage inside is, anyone out the familiar with this automatic crap? I took out the cover behind the seat disconected the belt and pulled the screw back with a rachet but obviously the forsaken thing doesnt work anymore and someone had mantioned this not being reparable

There is a recall on the track style set belts! Mine came off track and the dealership replaced both of mine for free 2 weeks ago...I saw the invoice it was well over $1600!!! Just run a search for on yahoo or google for 91 mazda rx-7 recalls...or pm me and I can get you the recall number!!!

Summary:
THE RAIL OF THE AUTOMATIC SHOULDER BELT CAN WEAR SUFFICIENTLY SUCH THAT THE CABLE WHICH RETRACTS THE BUCKLE ASSEMBLY WILL BECOME JAMMED IN THE RAIL RENDERING THE SHOULDER BELT INOPERATIVE.
Consequence:
IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE COLLISION, THE OCCUPANT WOULD NOT BE ADEQUATELY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE INOPERATIVE SHOULDER BELTS. MAZDA HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY COVERAGE ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AUTOMATIC SHOULDER BELT RAIL AND MOTOR FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.
Notes:
OWNER NOTIFICATION: OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING OCTOBER 1996. NOTE: OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MAZDA AT 1-800-222-5500. ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-800-424-9393.

Make sure you tell them not to break the plastic surrounding the belt. They broke mine and I only just realized it last week.

yeah also make sure you dont tamper with it, dont take it apart!!, if they suspect u fiddled with it they will really try to avoid doing it

this happen to my 90 TII, i search on ebay and it cost me $$15 bux, you gotta love ebay lol.

i know it isn't free bro, but here were i live i doub't that the mazda dealer would have change it for free, so i had to get other options and still 15 bux, its preety darn good.

na **** that they should do it for free..call mazda rnd if you have anyprobmels then you goto the dealer and they tell them to do it for free
