Didn't matter what year.
My '88 vert with leather/cd/etc package does not have the lumbar or height adjustments. Maybe a midyear Mazda change? Mine was built in April 88, around number 3700. Car is bone stock, original owner never modified anything, even the mats were stock.

My 88 vert (one of the first made in 88 - #302) did come with them, and every picture taken and in the brochures show them.

The lumbar adjustment is the lever just midway up on the back rest on the passengers side of the driver seat.

The seat height/angle is the lever in front of the reclining angle lever.

Do you have adjustable height head rests??? All the verts did from the factory. If you do then the driver's seat will have those things

Never tried moving the headrests but they appear to be adjustable, they have a zipper going all the way around bottom section and speakers.

I'll double check on the levers, I saw the lumbar and height features in the owners manual but could not find it on the car, just something I was curious about, thanks.

off topic sorta: someone mentioned a Sport Compact Car issue recently had a whole article on seats and such. Anyone have a copy of that they can scan or point me to? I went to the grocery store, but couldn't find SCC for some reason. And the last time I looked it wasn't in the issue I found.
