'91 gxl 4 pot caliper problem

I got out of one problem into the other. I just switch trannyies cuz my old one, 2nd was destroy. I get out of the place my brakes feel funny. I check my left front brakes pads were real low. I have cross drilled slotted; I they to put the new pads but the piston will not go back inside, try c-clamp nothing. I there any way to push them back

did you loosen the bleeder screw before you tried pushing them back? That'll help, but you'll have to bleed the brakes after you're done. It's easy though.

I hear something about twisting the caliper clockwise with needle nose pliers to retract them...

This is for the rear calipers only.

The pistons in the front calipers should be able to be pushed back in easily. The lowers are the first to go because of the condensation within the caliper. If they cannot be pushed back into the caliper, loosen the bleeder slightly, then if the pistons go in, brake hose collapsed inside and not allowing the fluid to returen to the master clylinder reservoir. If all fails time to rebuild.
