If the B/Y and B/W wires have 12 volts w/the 4 wire plug not plugged into the relay and key to on then you royally screwed the car's wiring. Try testing the voltage on these two wires w/no key.

The 4 wire plug not plugged in and nooooooooooooooo key. And I seem to remember you trying to check for codes on a plug you should not have as you stated "I tried it on both plugs near the lead coil." So, you grounded out a wire you possibly should not have etc.

okay ill try that now and i checked for codes on the single green connector with the orange wire AND the single green one on the other side of the car which you're right that was probably a bad idea but it did work after i tried so idk but ill brb gonna try what you said out and test the 2 wired plug with the 4 plug out and NO key ill just test them all with key out

Just test the B/Y and B/W wire in the 4 wire plug not plugged into the relay w/no key and that's all.

okay i checked them all with NO KEY the 2 wired one read 0.0 and the 4 wired read 12.0 for both sides and thats with NO KEY :p

I wish you would explain yourself more clearly. You were asked to check for voltage on the B/Y wire and the B/W wire w/the plug not plugged into the relay and no key. Now EXACTLY how are you checking for voltage on the B/Y wire, for example? Are you placing the red lead of the multimeter to the B/Y wire and the black lead of the multimeter to a ground source such as the negative battery terminal?

sorry im not explaining well enough lol and im putting the red on the wire and the black lead on the other wire across from it as long as the multimeter isnt showing - numbers then its the right way correct? would it change if the black lead is on the negative terminal of the battery? i dont mess with harnesses/electronics much im more of an engine guy! nothing was plugged into the relay and the key wasnt in at all

if you want me to put the black lead on the battery ill go do that and take pictures of the reading/where red lead is itll only take a second

That's not how you check for voltage!!!!! The Black lead goes to a ground source and not just another wire in the plug while the Red lead goes to the wire in which you measure voltage. I knew your findings just didn't make sense. Now redo all the main relay voltage checks as first posited and plug everything in please and do it correctly this time round. Okay!

lmao oops! how am i supposed to check with it plugged in? go from the back of the plug? ill try the leads are kinda thick

Yes, from the back. If necessary you can take a paper clip or something similar to wedge into the back of the plug. I'm going to bed. Tomorrow you need to have the wires checked properly.

k i just checked them! so with the cars ignition ON and the black lead on negative battery terminal and the b/y on the 2 wired plug showed 11.8 volts and the white on the 2 wired plug showed 0.0, WITH no key it showed 0.0 for both b/y and white wire. now for the plug with 4 with the cars ignition ON it showed 11.8 for all 4 of them and 0.0 for all 4 with NO key. does that sound right to you?

Wrong! The W/L and W/R wire are supplied w/constant voltage from the battery so they always have voltage regardless if there is no key. Oh boy!

Secondly, the color of the wires at the 2 wire plug are Black and a Black/White wire.

so that means they arent getting constant voltage? because i really pushed hard and felt it hit something and they still read 0.0! and oh okay gotcha yeah i was trying to remember while walking back to the house lol but if they arent getting constant voltage what can cause that?

The main relay has no voltage on the B/Y wire or the B/W w/no key. I wish you would understand the simplicity of the relay. These wires only receive voltage w/key to start because the relay becomes energized and the voltage from the White wires is then passed on to the other two wires in the relay. if you must you could measure the voltage of the White wires w/the plug disconnected because they have their own voltage supplied by the battery. Make sense.

yeah i said above that the 1 wire on the 2 wired WHITE plug had 11.8 volts with the key and no volts with no key and the other had 0 volts with and without key and all 4 wires in the yellow plug had 11.8 volts with key and 0 volts without a key in! i know im pretty stupid with this crap and we are just confusing eachother but bare with me

i rebuilt my last 12a from my old 83 gsl then traded it for a 240sx then i just got this fc lol im just getting confused because i did what he said i tested them plugged in and tested every lead i could for the 2 plugs and told him what each one was with the key on and off so there should be no incorrect answer because i listed everything

This what you said in reference to the 2 wire plug in post #38.

"k i just checked them! so with the cars ignition ON and the black lead on negative battery terminal and the b/y on the 2 wired plug showed 11.8 volts and the white on the 2 wired plug showed 0.0"

There is no B/Y wire in a two wire plug and there is no White wire in a two wire plug. Got it? For the very last time there are only two plugs at the main relay, one has 2 wires and they are Black and a B/W wire and that's it. The second plug has 4 wires and they are W/R, W/L, B/W and B/Y.

First off you were testing for voltage incorrectly. Secondly, you still have not got the wire colors straight as stated in my previous post which quotes you directly. You dig?

just noticed i mixed up the colors for the wires! i didnt test wrong ive just been speaking wrong see if this is better lol thanks for editing that now i understand the color codes lol SO the B/W had 11.8 volts on and 0 with key off and the black had 0 all around because its the negative correct? and all 4 on the other plug had 11.8 with key on and 0.0 with key off and the plugs were plugged in....so that means the whites arent carrying constant voltage like theyre supposed too right?

ill explain it too how i used the multimeter i use the Red lead and pushed it thru the hole where the b/y and b/w wire was and pushed the end of the lead against that wire on the inside and they both were reading 11.8 with the ignition on and 0.0 with it off. the plug was plugged in

You have an EGI fuse in the engine fuse box. One of the White wires comes from this fuse. Measure this White wire as it comes from the fuse box (no key).
