91 Coupe Open Diff, I want LSD!

I dont want a viscous though out of an s5, I'd really like to get a clutch type. I no this has been covered before but nothing was very specific on my exact model of car. I know if i wanted to put in a tII lsd I'd pretty much need the whole drivetrain but what about an s4 clutch LSD out of a non-turbo car? would i need the diff and half shafts or just the pumpkin? I appreciate y'all taking the time to read my post and any help you can offer is, as always, appreciated!

just did this in my 91 coupe. everything is the same for an N/A lsd. all you change is the diff itself. I also used a s4 clutch diff. works awesome.

I just did swaped a S4 lsd into my s5.

All you need is the pumpkin, you do not need to swap half shafts. just remove the whole pumpkin and swap it into your s5, its a direct swap, a quick one at that. all you have to do is lower the subframe and your good to go.

Bare S4 clutch type unit into S5 pumpkin: anything special required? S4 stub shafts?

Thanks

You'll have to adjust for backlash, pinion depth, etc...

S4 half-shafts would probably be necessary.

Does anyone know which half-shafts I should use for a Miata T2 Torsen LSD into an S5 pumpkin?

You can use the stock FC stubs with a Torsen, that's what I did with my T1.

i think the stubs are different between S4 and S5, maybe it corresponds to T1 and T2?

Except for the ones in the S5 viscous LSD. Don't use them, they're different lengths.
