91 black conv.

Whats up everybody i just purchased a 91 convertable. Its in very nice shape ill have some pics soon. I only have one problem that i cant figure out, when i go hard around a turn my engine bogs down real bad. I thought it may just be the fuel pic up but it happens when the tank is full to the top or real low. If someone knows somethin about that it would be great. I should have some pics in about a week or so...

I'd go with either the fuel pump, or the fuel filter.

Yeah, it's the filter in the tank, it's not holding gasoline on tight corners.

You have several options for exhaust. Racing Beat, Apexi, Greddy, etc. Racing Beat makes a nice, pretty quiet dual exhaust, thats what I had on my vert before my TII swap. Nice sound, not terribly loud, excellent quality.

Change the fuel filter up front too on the wheelwell/firewall, it's only $17 and takes 30 minutes to change. Mine crapped out on me one day and it wouldn't start. Just a suggestion if your going to do some maintenence.

I had the EXACT same problem, and I changed the in-tank filter to find out that it was the ORIGINAL and that it was a large block-shaped screen with a plastic frame holding it as tall as it is wide. The new one was a pancake-like square sock that eliminated the problem all together, as well as helped smooth out fuel flow. Thats your problem, if I am correct in assuming that the engine bogs worst on hard LEFT corners

You are correct about it happenig more around the left turns. I just went to an auto parts store today about this problem and the guy said i would need a whole new fuel pump! Hopefully not. The car has about 118,000 miles on it and i just got it 2 weeks ago. If you have any more tips on what i should do for some preventative maintnence let me know. I am also planning some stereo equipment and was wondering how the extra weight would effect handling and just general driving. THANK YOU.

I to just bought a 91 black vert. Mine every once in a blue moon does that. Right know i have to fix a heater hose problem. I am getting ready to piece together a custom exhuast set up. I will be useing RB headers and a RB presilcencer, to a RB Y-pipe and then to two Blitz Nur-Spec exhuast cans. Will look sweet and will have a
F***ing mean sound.

This is a very common problem... your fuel filter in the gas tank is clogged up and dirty, and will need to be cleaned or replaced.
