I'm looking into buying a 90 GTUs...im not so sure it really is a GTUs even though it does have the tags on it... ive read places that the GTUs' didn't have the sunroof option....i dont know if they were wrong, just wondering if someone here could help me figure it out...

also, im wondering will the title have the model listed on it?

Call the 1-800 Mazda USA number and have them run the VIN.&nbsp They can confirm the model.

The Mazda USA website is either http://www.mazda-usa.com/ or http://ww.mazdausa.com/ - you need to CALL their 1-800 numbers listed; do NOT send them an e-mail for the VIN check.

i ran the VIN online...carfax comes up with 1990 MAZDA RX7 GTU/GLX

and consumerguide came up with 1990 Mazda Rx7 GTU/GXL/SE.....

whats it all mean?:|

 

It's a non-turbo.
Those services can't differentiate between differing NA models.

I dont think that mazda even acknowledges that a GTUs model was made in '90, there were only about 100 or so that snuck through production. Easiest way to tell is to look at the sticker on the door jamb, and check to see the stock tire size. If it calls for a 16" tire (205/55r16) then it is a GTUs. The GTUs was the only N/A model to come stock with 16s. It will also either be black, red, or white, have no sunroof, and no power options.
