Unhappy 89rx7 will not idle ...Help...

well heres my story... I have a NEW motor, when i start it i have to pump the gas to even keep it running...when i get it up around 3500rpms it will run BUT it stutters....and sounds like it back fires some when i got the car back the builder said i needed a new air flow meter!!! well when i got it home and started looking there were vacum lines missing some lines pluged some hose about an 1/2 inch in dia. coming from behind the motor past the firewall like its coming from the trany. (I have a 5sp trany.) I got a service manual. and got lost tring to make heads or tails of where the vac.lines are coming from and where they go I need some GOOD knowledge HELP!!!If anyone knows what is wrong PLEASE give me some info...a website that would show me in plain words and pict.'s would be a GREAT place to start... Thank you !!!

Have you looked at the FSM (factory service manual) online yet? http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/1989_factor...ice_manual.htm I think the Haynes Manual is supposed to be pretty good too.

yes the fsm would explain lots to u. those vaccume lines r there for a reason. maybe the guy didnt know. what he was doin. get the manual and double check everything. if u still have problems gimme a ring im in ur area 618-792-4757.. good luck..

89rx7 vac. lines...?

Hey Deetz, do you know of any plain mans pictures of where vac.lines start and end!!! the site i down loaded is very good alot of info...But I'm not a mazda wiz...got any ideas... thanks

hey man, i dont want to make it sound like your stupid or anything, and im not saying you dont know much about these cars, cause i am still learning myself! However i learned that if the tps is knocked slightly out of wack. or the air duct is not tight from the Afm to the intake the darn thing with never run right! i mean you said it was new, have someone crank her when your push in the tps, and make sure the afm is hooked up and pluged in, just trying to help

ive got copys of all vaccum diagrams. it shows a picture for those who r auto illiterate lol hit me up and il throw ya a copy
