89GTU: Spits out excess coolant?

I was looking at an 89 GTU
and while it was idling a puddle appeared
under the car. Knowing that overheating =
dead motor, dont buy on these cars I told
them I couldn't buy it this way. They took it
to a mechanic and he told them that it was
'ejecting excess coolant'.
This leak I saw was on the bottom of the
motor, driver's side, below the oil filter.

Is this true, that RX7's spit out their excess
coolant, or am I being lied to here?

Check the heater-core hose. They tend to sprout leaks, as they're almost always drenched in the oil that leaks out of the oil-filter pedestal. It's a simple fix, and it sounds like that is what is wrong with the car. The OEM hose costs about $25, and takes about 5 minutes to replace.

Also, it sounds like that mechanic doesn't know what he's talking about.
