IMO, if you want it to be fast... do a turbo swap. My N/A was extremely fun to drive, and was decently quick for what it was (est. high 14s, judging from the cars I had beaten), but I was tired of being scared of V8 F-bodies, or things of that nature. A N/A will never be "fast".
If you dont want to go that route, focus on the handling aspect of the N/A. I thought my FC handled well at 1st, but after a new set of aftermarket springs/struts, as well as some good lightweight wheels and sticky tires, it felt like a whole different car.

right now im throwing around the idea of a t2 swap or some type of engine porting in terms of power/reliability/how streetable it will be.
because it is my daily driver in the summer.
if a did a t2 swap i already have a t2 lsd and rear axles. My drive shaft is modified, but id use a t2 drive shaft if i were to go that way.

If you have the time, money and resources to do the T2 swap it is well worth it. You will not regret it. The dependability of the car afterwards will be directly linked to how much time and money you put into it. If you are going to have this car along time I would suggest doing at least the following with the T2 swap.
Rebuilt engine
rewire fuel pump
NEW pulsation damper
Rebuilt injectors
New FPR
New sensor (intake temp, coolent temp)
ect....
The list is as long as your pockets are deep.
